Let me tell you a little story....

the Rising Sun is a village pub. It is a community hub and it is also a pub.

Possibly the best pub in Ickford.

Although we serve food, I must stress.... we are not a restaurant. Our food offering for the best part is mainly casual and  informal, and you just never quite know what you are going to get here.

The pub can get busy and noisy, and quite often there are children in the pub. So if its a formal or romantic dinner you are looking for, this might just not be the place. 

Some of our food is homemade and some we just give a bit of extra love to. I like to also think that some of it is exceptional. We have a tiny kitchen and can't feed lots of people at the same time, so please be patient. We do take bookings, for a limited amount of tables. Otherwise, give us a ring and if we have room we'll get you in. 

I am Rene -Chef and also the Landlord.  Ali, Chef's wife, is the Landlady. We live here with our two children and a half pub dog. So yes, children and dogs are welcome!

When we are away, which isn't often, food will not be available. We will endeavour to do all we can to keep the bar open at all opening times advertised. For times we are away, we will post on here and also on our Facebook page. 

Sometimes..... we play vinyl in the afternoon, you are welcome to bring your own, we play Aunt Sally, we have Quiz Nights, BBQs, Music Nights, Tug of War... we love Tug of War!!!, 

We always.have Black Sheep real ale, and a warm welcoming smile. 

We offer food, wine , lagers, and real ale. We also offer kids free ribena .
